Happy 18th Birthday Jesse - I LOVE YOU - OXO

Happy Birthday to a Handsome and Very Special Son, Friend and Great Uncle.
.

A Birthday to always remember - Jesse turned 18 on the Island of Maui in HAWAII - Truly a Tropical Paradise.

Aloha From HAWAII -

Aloha Means to Love and Take Care of Each Other - Flowers are Hawaii's way of saying "Aloha."

A Gorgeous Hawaiian Adventure across two long and scary swinging bridges to an unforgettable swimming hole.

"Watch-out below"

On the day of Jesse's Birthday we decided to do some Island hopping and spent the day on Oahu where I went to school with 30 different nationalities. I too was 18 years old when I went to BYU Hawaii. The Polynesian Cultural Center is owned by the church where students work so that they can go to school and receive an education. Islanders from eight Polynesian nations-Fiji, Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, New Zealand, Easter Island and the Marquesas are represented in authentic villages throughout the center. Each village represents it's heritage and helps you gain a deeper understanding of each nation's culture in fun interactive ways. The atmosphere is Authentic and gives you an appreciation for the people on the Pacific Islands and their Ancient legends. I absolutely loved the scenic drive to the center, which is located on Oahu's beautiful North Shore.
Lei's symbolizes Heaven and Emotions and are a symbol of elegance and beauty. A Lei is sacred and is accompanied by an embrace.
I really like your grass skirt Jesse - it is quite becoming.

Life is Good

I'm ready to go riding the waves ... A sport of Kings.

Blue - green waters, endless white waves breaking - Jesse, Kenny Ryan -

The ultimate romantic place to experience joyous memories and a promise to return to Hawaii. My Sweetheart bought me an exotic orchid lei when we arrived to this Beautiful land of charm and loveliness and it's alluring beauty. "To You Sweetheart Aloha."

After attending church we went for a Sunday drive and found this Black Sand Beach. The sand is formed by the wearing down of volcanic rocks by the action of the sea. Kenny made me another "Beautiful" orchid lei. I just love wearing a lei especially when it is my favorite color with an enchanting fragrance continually. Thank-you my Kenny for my Island treasure.

We had fun gathering shells, feeling the Trade winds and watching the sparkle of the ocean as it danced.

"Big Beach" was a great thrill for the boys and their boogie boards. The waves were extremely high and had a very strong and scary under current. Curtis and I basked in the sun on the beach and all was going good until suddenly an enormous wave came over the top of us, our books and new camera. Regardless of the mishap we still had FUN IN THE SUN.

Jesse and Ryan displaying the Aloha spirit.

This was a very special night as we enjoyed the Feast at Lele. We experienced a royal tour of Polynesia spotlighting music and dance from four exotic Pacific Islands. The featured Islands were Aotearoa, Tahiti, Samoa, and Hawaii. We had a fun sever which brought out a legendary feast from the four Pacific Island nations which was accompanied with a panoramic view of the West Maui sunset and the exciting sound of tropical drums. We enjoyed the evening on the beach where the royal family of Maui would feast and entertain.

I loved our sunset dining and the romance of the tropical night. An everlasting memory was created especially during the Island dancing. The playground of the Pacific was filled with the warm glow of tiki torches, orchids in the moonlight, hula girls, grass skirts and the unforgettable fire knife dance which was the "Best" I have ever seen.

The Hawaiian trademark: A tropical sunset which can be seen almost every evening.

What a glorious trip.

A hui hou Kaua: until we meet again...

Jesse's Great Eagle project for the Southwest Wildlife Foundation. He worked endless hours on a suspension bridge with his part being the first phase which was the concrete footings. This bridge was engineered by Borden Jenkins with my Sweetheart over seeing the project. Carter Enterprises donated $1,000.00 in re bar which took 50 hours to tie by the hands of Jesse, Curtis, Dustin, Ryan and Kenny. The concrete amounted to 15 yards on each side totaling 30 yards which was $3,000.00. The entire project was $10,000.00.

We are soooo proud of you Jesse - You truly amaze me and your hard work ethic.
