Our Handsome Ryan got in a BIG fight with a 10 wheel Dump truck when he was trying to get a rock out. His precious 4th finger on his left hand was left with a nail but only bone and some mutilated skin. Two days later after the finger had calmed down a bit Dr. Delcore performed surgery on his ring finger. Prior to surgery I put Ryan's name in 10 Temples on the Temple prayer roll and also Dr. Delcore's. Ryan plays the piano by ear so Beautifully and is also left-handed.
Dr. Delcore said that the best solution would be to cut off part of his finger because the bone was sticking out and there wasn't enough skin to form a flap. He said in some cases he has joined fingers together and then cut them apart after extra skin starts growing to fix a finger but the process is very long and difficult. He also has connected the finger to the palm of the hand gathering skin and then cutting it apart which leaves a lot of scar tissue. I said to Dr. Delcore, "Isn't there something you can do because Heavenly Father allowed him to keep his nail and he needs his precious finger." I also told Dr. Delcore that I had put his name in 10 Temples along with Ryan's and that I knew that when he performed the surgery he would feel the hand of the Lord guiding him and that I knew he could save his finger."
Dr. Delcore said that he was willing to try grinding the bone down on the back of the finger without touching the nail and then gathering all the skin possible to sew it together. He said that when Ryan came out of surgery his bone would still be exposed but with great care, antibiotics, and time the skin could grow together. Leaving the bone exposed is very dangerous as you are just opening up your body for infection that can travel through your blood stream.
When Ryan came out of surgery Dr. Delcore put his arm around me and said,"Everything that you prayed and asked for did and will come to pass." There were tears in his eyes and I know that he was touched by the Spirit that day as he is not a member of the Church.
Our fingers have more nerve endings then anywhere in our body beside our eyes and so the pain of such an accident is very excruciating. I know that Heavenly Father Loves Ryan with All His Heart and was watching out for him that day. Ryan could of easily lost his hand or all his fingers which I can't even bare to think of.
I am sooooooo grateful for the Priesthood and the Beautiful blessing that Curtis gave Ryan with Dustin and Bryce. I have a testimony of the Temple Prayer Roll and know that many Amazing Blessings have been bestowed on Ryan this last week and our family.

The day that Ryan's stitches came out I told Dr. Delcore that he had truly worked a miracle on Ryan's finger and Dr. Delcore said: "Didn't you tell me that my name was put in 10 Temples and he pointed up to the ceiling - I am still feeling the help from on High."
Dr. Delcore is truly a Gifted Dr. and we will forever be grateful to him for saving and fixing Ryan's beautiful 4th finger.
