Hey family!!!!!
It was good to hear from you guys this week! The baptism went really well on saturday! It was a little bit stressful because we were relying on some missionaries in the ward next to us to get the baptismal font filled (we had to have the baptism outside of our stake due to the scouts using our stake center, and the building was really alot closer to us anyways, which complicated things a tad bit), and the baptism was at 11 and 1035 rolled around and the font still wasn't being filled! I was like what the heck is going on! haha and Andrea (the lady who we baptized:)) gets really stressed out if anything isn't perfect, and basically it was my responsibililty to make sure that everything ran smoothly since my comp. e. pace has only been out a month and doesn't really know what is going on still haha. So needless to say, it was a little bit stressful. But we ended up having the baptism at like 1115 saturday morning and it went really good! The spirit was really strong there. There was like 8 missionaries there because andrea has gone through quite a few missionaries, and they were all there to see her get dunked! We were all super happy. It was definately a group effort to get andrea baptized over the past 3 years. But the job is done, the letter is sealed, the concrete has dried. . . . (I figured I would use that one due to the fact that we are accompanied with concrete quite regularly in this family haha) Anyways, it went fantastic and felt really good to see some of the fruit of our labors! I haven't had a baptism since the middle of january so I was running a little dry! But all is well. I was super sad not to get an email from you guys last week, but I figured something was up with our comp haha. It sounds like the house is going under some sweet improvements! With the bathrooms, and the kitchen sink, and the front yard and what not! I have to say, I did miss helping you plant the garden this year dad, but next year I will arrive home JUST in time to help eat up all the hard work from the summer harvest haha. No worries, I will definately help eat the corn:) I don't know how the corn rows are gonna do this year though, cause I am not there to tend them each and every day. Those rows of corn were like my 2nd home out there in the garden. I spent soo much time weeding out there, that I developed names for each and every one of the stalks of corn:) haha I hope you can feel my sarcasm. . . . But I DEFINATELY weeded more than Dad did last year. I will say that much is the spoken truth! But yeah, I also gave a talk in sacrament meeting yesterday. The 2nd counsilor in the bishop rick called e. Pace and I saturday night at like 7 and asked us if we would fill in for the speaker that wasn't able to make it. . . . I played it off on e. Pace like he was gonna have to be the only speaker! And that he was gonna have to pull off a 40 minute talk haha. This was his first talk in the field yesterday, but he actually did really good! We didn't have much time to study due to ward counsil in the morning, and also general priesthood meeting sunday morning at 7! So we both just kinda wung it. I talked on hope, faith, and humility and how they are all requirements of each other if you desire to develope any of them. The topic was the 13th article of faith which was funny cause that is the article of faith that you always recite to all of us mom! haha so that was good. I actually enjoy speaking in sacrament meeting now. That was my 3rd time speaking on my mission in sacrament meeting, and I definately felt really comfortable up there which was awesome! It's amazing if you put in the study time before hand, and if you go up there with a prayer in your heart, how Heavenly Father will inspire our utterance with the holy ghost. I notice this with sacrament meeting talks and also when I am giving lessons to people, that often I realize in my head that it is almost like I am not even the one speaking. I am just miraculously speaking words that I didn't think to say. One quote from one of the general authorities that I really like, I can t remember which general authority but they said, "I know when I am speaking with the power of the holy ghost, when I leave the pulpit learning more from what I said." something to that effect. . But that willl be awesome to have the summer games this week! I bet you are all stoked! I am gonna miss those fire works, but for the 4th of july I hear that redondo beach is gonna have a sweet fire work show that I just may happen to slip down to the pier to observe:) Of course not step on the sand, but be right there in the fire work show:) That would definately be sick. So dad do you think that you are gonna start on the apartments? It is sorta risky, but if we dont' have any work, than we a better time to build them than right now! Especially cause the economeny is struggling right now so people would sell building supplies for super cheap I would imagine. But yes, there is always risk involved which is well. . . . . risky haha. But I know you and uncle chad will do whatever is best for the company:) Renka! It sounded like the trek was bomb digity! That is awesome! I wish I would have gone on a trek:( That will be awesome to play some summer games soccer! ahh I am gonna miss that. I see people playing over here all the time, and it makes me want to get out there and join them! But I know there is a time and a place, and this is not the time or place at the moment haha. But good luck! And continue to have fun driving! Mom or Dad. . . how is the money in the bank doing that we plan to get on a CD? Have we been able to get it on a CD yet? just curious, it would probably be a good idea to let that start building on itself asap! Thank you for the package mom:) I always love getting them each week! If there is one thing that I can rely on, it is a package:) I was tallying it up the other day on how much it costs to send a package each week for 2 years and it is ALOT! I will have to pay you back some day or something haha. And than times that by 6! (Due to 6 of us have/will served:)) Anyways, the piano is still going really good! I don't feel nervous playing in front of people any more! I am super happy about that, and plan to start playing in sacrament meeting alot! But thank you for the email, and for everthing that you guys do. Sorry if this email is too long, my fingers were just flyin today for somereason! But yeah, all is well here in redondo beach california! May the spirit be with yal this week:) Bye Bye

Hey family!

I didn't recieve an email from you guys this week:(:(:( I guess you guys got caught up in some stuff or somethin. But it's all good. This week went really really good! Probably over all one of the best weeks of my entire mission! We taught alot of people, and picked up several new investigators and made andrea who has a baptismal date for this saturday really solid too! I also had the opportunity to play the piano for 18 people after dinner this last sunday! In our ward we have a break the fast with all the empty nesters in our ward, and we are invited as well, and I played valentine, over the rainbow, and love one another for all of them! They all loved it and kept on saying wow you really need to thank your mom for all the lessons. Instead of saying I played really good, they said I need to thank my mom this week haha. They also said it sounded really good, but I thought that was funny. So, officially, THANK YOU MOM for all the piano knowledge and ability I have, cause without you, I would be just like most of the missionaries out here. . . completely foreign to the idea of being able to play the piano. But the funny thing is, is alot of the missionaries always tell me how they played the piano for a couple of years, but than got sick of practicing so they quit, but that was the worst decision they ever made! So many people have said that to me it's crazy. Including several members in the ward, namely brother hales, and brother carter. Yes there are alot of carters in my ward. I don't know if i have told your or not, but the bishop is Bishop Carter haha. It's pretty funny. But yeah, everyone always tells me how much they regret not sticking with the piano. So I am super glad that you kept pushing me to keep playing through all the years! Cause now it is really paying off. And it is really relaxing to be able to just sit down, and play what ever music is in front of me. A couple of weeks ago we visited a lady that had a piano, and I forgot the music that I usually carry around with me, so she busted out all kinds of older piano songs by bach and songs like the swan and what not. It was amazing how I was able to just play them! Even though I haven't practiced hardly at all for 7 months! It really made her happy too:) Than we another experience we had just yesterday, we were knocking doors, and we knocked into this little chinese lady named ming. At first she really didn't seem interested in what we had to say at all, and she had food in her hands cause she was cooking dinner, she didn't understand english very well but I noticed a piano in her front room so I asked her, do you mind if I play you a song? She was like. . . wait what?? And thought that I said that I wanted her to play me a song haha. But I said it again and said, yes I play the piano and I would like to play you a song on your piano if that would be ok. . . will you allow me to play a song for you? Than she hesitantly let us in, and I went straight in and started striking up a convo as I cleared her piano from her music and busted out love one another. I started playing and she was like, wow. This really good. Wow. Wow haha. I was like yes, this is a song from our church! Despite never playing on her piano, and not knowing her at all, Heavenly Father really helped me play well, and it really invited the spirit into her house. After I was done, her husband came out from the back room where he was listening, and said thank you and said goodbye to us. We unfortunately didn't get a return appointment, but we left them a card and most likely planted a seed for the next missionaries that come around. Yes, she may not let them in unless they can play the piano haha but at least she felt the spirit for a few moments. Anyways, that is what happened this week! Elder Pace and I are really excited for the baptism this saturday! Andrea is definately ready even though she has her ups and downs. She is bipolar so we have to be really careful with how and when we present things. But yeah, things are going well:) Thank you for all that you guys do! I hope that this week went really well, and this next week will go really good:) I will talk to you guys next week. Bye Bye

Hey Family!

It was so good to hear from you guys! Sorry this email might be a little shorter cause I am running out of time. It looks like Kenny's party went awesome!!!!! I saw all of the pics and it looked like a blast! That is really nice that you guys have ryans place just right there that you can use and what not. So. . . apparently I am still not looking any older yet haha. Especially this past week, everyone comments on how I looke 14 to 15 hahaha. I just laugh at it, and sometimes go along with it. And tell them how I don't know how I was allowed to come out here so young. . they just look at me all weird and say, are you over 18???? Anyways, It sounds like things are going really well back home! You always do so much for all of us mom with all the parties over the years and what not. It looked like ALOT of work went into Renka's party too. But thats good cause now you will always remember your 16th birthday! But. . . . Training has been, well really stressful haha. I never knew how hard it is to be a father!!! My comp is literally dependent on me. When he first got on his bike, he looked like a new born girafe that was wabbling so hard to try and walk haha. He crashed 5 or 6 times the first day, than the second and third day continued to just fall over at random times. I got a pretty sweet video of him walking his bike up one of the hills in our area hahahaha. I speed up the hills than just look behind me like 200 yards and he is walking his bike up the hills. It makes me giggle for sure. But, I really hope that his inability to effectively ride his bike won't slow down the work in our area. We have alot of potential right now, so I will just have to be really patient with him, and not get frustrated casue that is when the spirit leaves, and the work would be worthless. But we have been finding alot of really good potentials! The hard work and prayers elder moss and I, and also Elder Pace and I have been doing is really starting to pay off. Andrea Bartling who is our baptism in june 11 is going really well too! We are super excited for that, and happy to see all the positive change that she is making in her life. But yes, I am really going to have to work on patience with elder pace. It might be difficult, but I know with the lord's help I can perservere! But I am officially out of time, so I hope everything is going really good back home! Good luck with the wedding! That is so awesome, I wish I could be there, but I know that this is where I am supposed to be.
